Virtual communities develop across a variety of aspects in life, and is an important element in how individuals learn in professional and personal ways. This project focuses on developing content that highlights the variety of ways in which virtual communities are utilized and provide a resource to support anyone interested in enriching their practice through virtual communities in education, business, and beyond. Chapters focus on theory moving into practice as they illuminate uses and considerations for virtual communities though the many levels of education, healthcare, business, activism, entertainment, and non-profit. By focusing on a broad spectrum of utilization, we anticipate being able to produce a literary resource that help support the 21st century needs of learners and users through the understanding of how this model is being contoured and implemented in different fields.
