Introduction

Cognitive disorders pose significant challenges as they greatly impede the cognitive functions of individuals, disrupting their normal functioning in society. Without appropriate treatment, these disorders can have detrimental effects on the overall health and well-being of individuals. The medical community recognizes the urgent need for expeditious and accurate diagnosis of cognitive disorders to mitigate their impact. However, due to the wide spectrum of cognitive disorders and their increasing prevalence among older adults, early and precise diagnosis remains a complex task.

In order to address this challenge, healthcare professionals in the field of cognitive disorders are turning to deep intelligent technologies in various forms, including models, prototypes, devices, robotics, and sensors. These intelligent technologies hold the potential to significantly improve the quality of life for individuals affected by mild to severe cognitive deficits. By leveraging machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deep learning, researchers aim to develop innovative approaches for the early and accurate diagnosis of cognitive disorders.

This book serves as a comprehensive compilation of cutting-edge research that focuses on the application of computational intelligence, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in the field of cognitive disorders. Its primary objective is to showcase innovative methodologies and solutions that facilitate early and precise diagnosis of cognitive disorders. Additionally, the book aims to explore intelligent assistive technologies designed to support caregivers in their efforts to provide optimal care for individuals with cognitive impairments.

By combining the expertise of researchers, clinicians, and technologists, this book aims to bridge the gap between academia and clinical practice, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and fostering the development of practical solutions for the challenges faced in cognitive disorder diagnosis and care.

Overall, this book aims to be a valuable resource for researchers, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in the intersection of cognitive disorders, computational intelligence, and intelligent assistive technologies. Through the dissemination of innovative research and ideas, we hope to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the improvement of the lives of individuals affected by cognitive disorders and their caregivers.
